By Cameron Dulce

What kind of clothing and foot ware do I have to bring?
You probably have everything right in your closet. For most trips we encourage "layering" your clothes to allow for changeable weather conditions. You will need to bring a combination of regular hiking clothes such as long, loose fitting slacks, shorts, T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, sweaters, long thermal underwear and a down parka or vest and light to medium weight hiking boots. We will provide you with a detailed equipment list when you sign up fro your adventure of a lifetime.Three jerseys (teal, white, and black), two hats, t-shirts, and/or long-sleeve shirts are provided. Please bring a pair of white belt-loop pants, black socks, black belt, and all other uniform items which you like to wear. Uniforms are worn with full respect for the tradition and integrity of the game of baseball. (i.e., shirts fully tucked in, hats on properly, pants at knee showing calf-length socks, etc.) ..

back to top Q. What should I pack and what kinds of clothe should I bring?
Pack light: Baggage carts are scarce at airports, and luggage restrictions are tight. Bring comfortable, hand-washable clothing.

How can people protect themselves?
Avoid spending time outside at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are active. They are especially active for two hours after sunset. When outdoors, wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and other protective clothing. Apply insect repellent containing DEET according to label instructions. Make sure that doors and windows have tight fitting screens. Repair or replace screens that have tears or holes. Eliminate all sources of standing water that can support mosquito breeding.Lots of T-shirts! Although long sleeve tops may be needed during the cooler nights of the dry season.Avoid spending time outside at dawn and dusk when mosquitoes are active.

What Clothes should I bring?
All your clothes should be lightweight and if possible rain proof although that depends on the time of your travel. Long pants and long sleeve shirts can be useful for your tours and trips through the juungle. A good pair of walking shoes is also important. A Large brimmed hat will help to keep the sun off your head and out of your eyes, plus a good pair of sunglasses.

Are there any dangerous animals in Southeastern Minnesota?
Yes and no. The most dangerous is probably an ornery bull, with the deer tick coming in second (Lyme disease). In reality, the Driftless Region is pretty friendly, and only normal caution is needed when in the woods. I have only seen one rattlesnake in 40+ years, and am more concerned with farmer's dogs in driveways. I also don't get between cows and their calves in the spring. Poison ivy is rarely found near streams, although wild parsnip is, and it can give a nasty burn.Yes, you can download a PDF catalog here.
