By Alan Wonnacott

On Halloween 2008, Little Red Riding Hood costumes are just going to be scarier! A horror film is to be launched soon with a new twist on an old tale. A Tale of LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD- the movie- is an action packed thriller. HmmI wonderWho will be the killer?

The movie will show the dark side of the tale. You will experience a totally different atmosphere. You will know what actually happens when a young beautiful girl is approached by a stranger. The content of the movie is kept confidential. You now only know that the big bad wolf is starving.

Once upon a time. The fairytale we all heard as children begins A little girl has to go through the forest by herself to take food to her sick grandmother. She is seen skipping the forest, with a basket filled with goodies, wearing a red hooded cape. (Like Superman's-only smaller.)

The "Red" is scared when she meets up with the big bad wolf. The "Red" is asked by the wolf where she is going. She answers the wolf that she is going to her grandmother's house and even tell the wolf how to go there. The big bad wolf tells the "Red" the opposite direction so as to let he go to the house in advance.

Originally the tale aims to tell children that they should not enter a road that they are not familiar with. It will be very dangerous.

Let me tell you the history of Halloween as well. Halloween is a scary festival. It is usually celebrated on the last day of October which is the scariest night.

The holiday originated in Ireland from a feast day known as Samhain. It was a yearly celebration held to mark the end of the harvest. Crops including animals were sacrificed to the Gods in big bonfires. The sacrifices were peace offerings in exchange for protection.

It was believed, on Samhain night, dead people were allowed 24 hours to roam the earth. Some of these were evil spirits, and that is where the scary costumes came in. The idea was to frighten the dangerous ghosts away before they could do harm. People disguised themselves in animal heads, as witches, and goblins.

1st November is called All Saints Day, aka All Hallow's Day. The meaning of Hallow is "sainted ones" This religious day was started to release the strength the Samhain pagan ritual had over the Irish people. Samhain was called as All Hallow's Eve. People pronounced it as Sah-ween. So it is the reason why Halloween has a "ween".

On the day before Samhain, the Celts put buckeye and berries on their perrons. The treats were to trick the ghosts from coming to their houses.

When the Irish people immigrated to America, they brought the spirit of Halloween along.

Wearing Halloween costumes, having a crazy night or eating candy are the main parts of Halloween today. People do not worry any about the other world where the dead people live.

But is it?

Remember to get you Halloween costumes for the last day of October. You would never know if the spirits of the underworld is still around you
