I am now going to write what I think myself is the best way to learn to play guitar.In my honest opinion the only way you will really discover the best method for you by trying things for yourself.

Always make sure your equipment is in good order and you guitar is tuned properly there is no point in trying to play guitar when you do every thing right and it still sounds wrong. Keeping your concentration is also very important so try to find somewhere free of distractions to do your practice.

Don't underestimate the importance of learning all you can about your guitar. Find out what every thing is called and be able to find it quickly. One of the best ways to learn to play guitar is to know your guitar. Guitars are not all the same and each one sounds different, you will find this out as your experience grows and hopefully your enjoyment and appreciation of them does too.
Skill level
Don't aim too high too soon as you will soon find yourself frustrated before you've really got started. Pick something simple to get underway with, a lot of music books start you off with some easy strumming patterns and old songs. The key is to build your way up, gradually increasing the difficulty as your skills improve.
Learn What You Already Know
Once you are past these stages it will be time to up the difficulty level.Aim to find a musician you love and are accustomed with and try and copy parts of there songs. You will find that the music for most bands and artist are available all over the place and it is a great way of learning the guitar.

When you feel like your ready to progress try to focus all you time on one song and when you have it burnt it your memory organize a small group of friend or family to listen to you play. The best way to learn to play guitar is to assert confidence in your self because the guitar is supposed to be enjoyed by all. It's not a great deal of fun sitting in a bleak area playing to your self.
