Is your collection of family photos just sitting locked away in your computer? Would you like the opportunity to see these photos more often and without the trouble and time it takes to pull them up in your computer? You can have these photos handy at a glance and be useful by turning them into a unique, customized digital photo calendar.
To be realistic, not every photograph is worth a thousand words, but those that are, are priceless. These are the photos that you find yourself wanting to pull out every now and then to remember a special moment or to share with others. You can create a special way to have them available to show off to friends and family.
It is only natural to want to share your good times with others. Part of the fun in reliving these moments through snapshots is getting to share them with friends and family. But how can you do this, and what is the best way?
Well, one very cool way is by using a simple digital photo calendar. And just so we're clear, we're not talking about an actual 'digital photo calendar' here (although you could very well call it that) either. For simplicity's sake we just mean creating 'stunning' wall calendars using your own unique digital photos!
In other words... a 'photo calendar' which you can then print up, give to your friends or family, hang on your wall, promote across the Internet, sell on your website or photo blog, (or even on eBay), etc...
Let's try out building one of these fun little photo calendars for ourselves.
Let's take a look at the steps.
Naturally you are going to start with selecting your favorite photos. The next step involves some homework, but don't worry, I've done a bit of the research for you. Here is a sample listing of a few places where you can transform your photos into a calendar
Check out a few of the websites that will do this for you: www.bighugelabs.com, www.desktopwallpaperphotos.com, www.snapfish.com and www.cafepress.com. The first two listed can give you a free digital version of your calendar that you can download to your hard drive and then print out or save to a CD/take to a print shop. The others provide a 'real' wall or desk calendar that you can purchase and then 'send' to yourself, or even a friend.
Knowing which website to use is probably the hardest thing to figure out and decide on when turning your "plain" photos into a calendar. The rest is actually pretty simple although you do need to have at least a working knowledge of how to prepare your photos before printing. There are plenty of programs, tutorials and guides that can help you accomplish this. If all else fails, get someone to help you if it proves too challenging or if you just don't have the time.
Only a few more easy steps...
a) upload your photo/s to one of the photo calendar web sites above.
2) Pick a specific calendar size and other details
3) Settle on a month and a year you want your calendar to have
d) then hit the 'create' button or order your own calendar...
Simple, eh? Once you've done all that then you'll have yourself an enjoyable photo calendar that you can then download onto your hard drive as a .PDF, or maybe a jpeg image file... Or, if you're 'outsourcing' the printing, you can expect to receive your calendar in a week or so...
But overall, not too bad for a few minutes work!
Then take your digital photo calendar 'work of art' and go impress your friends with it... Print it out onto card, or email to everyone you know, (try selling it on eBay), put it up proudly on your wall, or if you created and bought yourself a 'real' photo wall calendar, then send it to a few friends. They'll be touched by your thoughtfulness!
