One tool that you will probably find indispensable in converting and burning video files to DVD is a reliable video to DVD converting and burning software. These programs can turn the videos saved in your hard drive to watchable DVDs that you can use with any commercial DVD player and home theaters.

Video to DVD conversion programs are different from your ordinary burning software that only burns files to disc and does not convert them. A good example of such a program is is ConvertXtoDVD. This program lives up to its name because it can convert "X" as in almost any video format available. These include AVI, MPEG, MOV, Xvid and VidX.

There are at least three popular ways to convert video files to DVD. Each one is discussed in detail below.

One way of converting video files to DVD involves videos in the analog VHS format. This way is the most complicated since it involves converting an analog file to a digital file. To do this you will need a special device and a software which can be had for $100 or less. After the file has been converted to digital format and has been saved in your computer, you can already use a program such as ConvertXtoDVD to convert it to DVD format and burn it into a disc.

Second way, transfer videos from a digital camcorder to DVD. This way is much simpler than the first since videos from camcorders are already digital. Transferring videos from a camcorder is easy and can be done by connecting the camera to your computer via USB cable. After uploading the files they can already be converted to DVD and burned to a disc using ConvertXtoDVD or a similar program.

The last way is the easiest because it involves converting files that are already in your computer to DVD. As mentioned earlier, ConvertXtoDVD can convert almost all known video formats. So no need to download other programs in converting different video formats. ConvertXtoDVD features an easy to use interface, so for sure you wouldn't have any problems in converting video files and burning them to DVDs.
