It isn't all about terrifying rides at the string of Six Flags Amusement Parks anymore. It has grown bored and taken on even more. Six Flags wants to soak the thrill-seeking people all over the country with its just-as-exciting water park, Hurricane Harbor.
Scattered all over the country, Hurricane Harbor water parks may either be next to its original counterpart or on its own. No matter how they're located, there are still consistent similarities: modernized water rides, the best updated water slides, exciting wave pools, raging rivers and soaking wet enjoyment.
Hurricane Harbor began taking the nation by storm starting in Arlington, Texas, where the first of these water parks was placed. The 17th of May is both the beginning of Hurricane Harbor's summer season and the launching of the fresh new Mega Wedgie. Tickets sell for $24.99. But for kids less than 48" in height, tickets are only $19.99. Babies under two years old are free. General and preferred parking are available which are $10 and $15.
May 24 officially opens the summer season at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in L.A. where guests get what is called a "California Drenchin". Hurricane Harbor, L.A. is a weekends-only adventure as of now, and Hurricane Harbor's tickets in L.A. cost $29.99 (General Admission) and $20.99 for kids less than 48" in height. Up to 2 y/o are free. Combo tickets are available too for $69.99 which includes both Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor.
New Jersey, on the other hand, consists of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, Six Flags Great Adventure, and Six Flags Wild Safari Animal Park-all neighboring each other. But Hurricane Harbor is said to be the tri-state area's most excellent water park. Until the summer season starts (June 19), New Jersey's Hurricane Harbor is open weekends. Tickets are priced starting at $24.99 (kids 54" and below) with an additional combo ticket available for admissions to both Hurricane Harbor and Wild Safari Animal Park.
You can buy tickets with admission included for those parks wherein Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags Amusement Park are together. The largest of these combined parks is Six Flags Great America/Hurricane Harbor in Illinois. Located on the outskirts of Chicago, its summer opening is May 21. St. Louis has got access to Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor bought together as one ticket which comes with water fun along with admission to the theme park. Summer season opens May 15.
The country's most enormous wave pool is located at Six Flags America in Prince George County, Maryland (just near Baltimore and Washington, D.C.). It is opening for summer in May, 2008.
Two wave pools in Springfield, Massachusetts are offered for play at Six Flags New England's Hurricane Harbor. Near Boston, this is set to open the summer season in late May.
