A fine tip brush is not necessarily good. The size of the brush depends on the area you want to paint on. A good quality brush is usually made of horse's tail.

In order to avoid wasting paint, you should also get a palette. A palette is a painter's board where the colours can usually be mixed. This way you can mix colours easily and also avoid paint wastages. I am sure that sounds simple enough.

By cleaning your floor with turpentine and cloth you will be able to remover the stains. You can also remove the stains on your hands by washing them with turpentine.
