By Chris Channing

Some of the most exciting, entertaining, and visually expanded forms of music videos today is rave music videos, also known as electronic dance music videos. These videos are so incredible because they are truly limitless in their possibilities. The music is very experimental so the visuals related to it are very unique as well. It is understandable that so many people have become so obsessed with the life style that comes with this music and the videos that are made to better express it.

Before diving into the factors that make rave music videos great you must first understand the music that drives them. Rave music is generally known as a combination of hardcore techno and fast break beat music. Trance music and many other genres are contained in this form of music, which uses loops and synthesizers to create the unique sounds. Some of the first popular groups to create this style were The Shamen, The Prodigy, and Utah Saints.

A group's work is generally considered rave music the moment it is played at a rave. A rave is an enormous grouping of people dancing to the hard pumping music and in most cases partaking in the use of mind expanding drugs.

Ecstasy is the drug that has been made famous by the rave scene. This pill is preferred by rave goers because of its ability to expand upon bright lighting, hard pounding music, and objects in motion. Colors and movement are applied in a lot of rave videos for this purpose. Rave goers have said that while on the drug the music is more fluid and clear. The combination of dancing and music while on ecstasy can enter the user in to a highly pleasurable state of mind.

During rave music videos a popular form of dancing to include is known as liquid dancing. This name is used in order to describe the motion the dancer uses as he or she moves along with the music. Generally only the arms and legs are used in this form of dancing, but the more advanced dancers are able to encompass their entire body.

Liquid dancing is formed from the style of eighties b-boy style break dancing. There are several different techniques and styles that can be applied to a dancer's personal style. Hand flow, rails, waves, traces, threads, contours, splits, and builds are all techniques that can be put in place in order to fully master the art of liquid dancing.

Hand flow is easily the most basic and most simple to be grasped by an amateur. There is no specific way to perform this technique. As long as the dancer is able to make their movements look liquid their form will be acceptable. Waves are the most popularly imitated forms of liquid dancing. The dancer's main goal is to move the body as if a wave was passing through it, alternating tensing the muscles and then relaxing.

Rave music videos are quickly increasing in popularity. The full involvement in motion, sound, and visual aids can be credited for this. The videos ability to pleasure every sense the body has to offer will guarantee and audience for as long as it is being produced.
