Be Your Boss's Hero With Awesome Company Picnic Games!

By Rayden Botts

Just when you think you've got everything under control with your company picnic you realize - how are you going to entertain your guests!? Don't fret too much - thinking up great company picnic games will probably be the most fun you have in your planning process. There are definitely a few must-haves when it comes to your office picnic, so pick some that work best for your company and get started!

There are plenty of popular company picnic games, but the dunk tank is probably one of the best. Especially when you turn it into a "Dunk Your Boss" game. Since the company picnic is one of the few places you get to treat your boss like a regular human being, most employees will jump at the opportunity!

Dunk tanks are a popular rental during picnic season, and one of the hottest company picnic games out there. Every employee wants a chance at their boss with no fear of repercussions, so give them the opportunity. If your budget is tight, it might be worth cutting a few corners in other areas to get the tank.

Next on the list of important company picnic games is some kind of sport. Anything from a softball game to horseshoes is a great way to get people working together with a bit of a competitive atmosphere. Often the point of a company picnic isn't just to show appreciation, but to also build strong team relationships.

And what picnic would be complete without plenty of kids busy running around and getting into trouble? Of course, if you're inviting children along, it means providing the obligatory kid-friendly company picnic games. Luckily kids are easy to please - a moon bounce, organized tug of war and sack races will satisfy most and even getting them involved in one of the sports games is a great way to go. If the kids are happy with the picnic, you know their parents (your coworkers) will be also.

If you're unlucky enough to have your picnic right in the middle of a 100 degree heatwave, you may want to add water games to your list of company picnic games. Water gun fights, water balloon tosses and sprinklers are great refreshing activities to provide your guests. Water games in hot weather are a must have for an office picnic - unless you're OKAY with your guests passing out from heat exhaustion!

If all this just seems like too much work, think 2 words: amusement park! Amusement parks have something for everyone and will cut out most planning. Not to mention the fact that you can get great discounts on group rates. Whether you go this route or plan your own company picnic games, commit fully to it, and get to planning!
